Estuary Exploration: Science Discovery Summer Camp

Time: 8:30 am til 2:30 pm

Location: Crystal River Preserve State Park Visitors Center, 3266 N Sailboat Ave, Crystal River

Description: The Friends of Crystal River State Parks, Inc. in partnership with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), Florida Park Service, and Florida Coastal Office, is offering an exciting archaeology and biology summer camp at the Crystal River Preserve State Park! All camp activities are conducted by professional archaeologists and biologists, including educators from FPAN, and allow kids to experience archaeology and biology first-hand through activities, experiments, and hikes!

The camp runs from July 9th through July 13th, 2018 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm

For children ages 8-11

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and cost is $85 per camper

Fill out application form and submit with tuition fee by June 22, 2018

Summer Library Program: Archaeology Rocks! at Headquarters Branch

Time: 11:00 am til 12:00 pm

Location: Headquarters Branch Library, 401 E University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601

Description: Join archaeologists from the Florida Public Archaeology Network as we explore stone tools and hunting technology through time in Florida. Learn about Native American innovations through the artifacts they left behind long ago, then make your own hunting tool to take home with you! This is a family friendly event.
