Library Program: Building Prehistoric Florida – Mounds and Middens

Time: 2:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: Alachua Branch Library, 14913 NW 140 Street Alachua, FL 32615

Description: What’s the best way to learn about a person, whether they lived thousands of years ago or today? Look through their garbage of course! Archaeologists study prehistoric trash piles or middens to gain a wealth of information about the past. They also investigate purpose built mounds that still dot the Florida landscape in order to learn about prehistoric societies. Learn how Native Americans in Florida built a better world in this fun and hands-on program.

Will be held in Meeting Room A+B at the Alachua Branch Library. For questions or more information contact Victoria Rivera at 386-462-2592
