Fort Cooper Days at Fort Cooper State Park

Time: 9:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: Fort Cooper State Park, 3100 S. Old Floral City Rd. Inverness, FL 34450

Description: Fort Cooper Days is our annual event that provides a look at what life was like during the early 1800's. Come and enjoy modern and period artisans, living history demonstrations, and great food and refreshments.

In April, 1836, during the Second Seminole War, a battle took place here in these woods at Fort Cooper State Park. Osceola and some five hundred warriors confronted Major Mark Anthony Cooper and the 380 soldiers under his command were ordered to "build a fort and hold their ground".

Our battle re-enactment will demonstrate the conditions and types of weapons used during these hostile times and in this hostile environment.

There are two reenactments at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

Admission is $6.00 ages 13 and up. Children 12 and under are free.
