42nd Micanopy Fall Festival

Time: 9:00 am til 5:00 pm

Location: Micanopy, FL , along Cholokka Boulevard, 12 miles south of Gainesville

Description: Micanopy, which traces its history back to 1821, is the little town time forgot. This quiet little town bustles with activity as the vendors pour into town and fill Cholokka Boulevard. Many local artists, crafters, and musicians participate in the festival, as well as other artists from across the southeast. Along with the two hundred displays of arts and crafts there are many other attractions. The main stage plays host to a variety of good time music throughout the festival and an old time auction of items donated by participating vendors on Saturday afternoon.

While you are basking in all this historical city has to offer, be sure to visit the Micanopy Historical Society Museum located at 607 NE Cholokka Blvd.

History Bike Gainesville V: Haunted Hogtown

Time: 5:00 pm til 7:00 pm

Location: First Magnitude Brewing Company, 1220 SE Veitch St, Gainesville, Florida 32601

Description: On this Halloween themed History Bike Gainesville tour we will ride to several of Gainesville's and the University of Florida's infamously spooky spots. While discussing the eerie myths we will also examine how these legends can shape popular lore and who's job it is to set the record straight - or if that's even necessary. HBG asks folks to come ride in costume! It will be fun....it's Halloween after all!

Tour will last about 2 hours and end back at First Magnitude Brewery. Let's be safe! Helmets and personal water strongly recommended! This is an evening ride, so bike lights are great. Parking is very limited at the brewery, if possible please ride to location or park along Main St. If it looks like rain, we will cancel and reschedule!

RIDE BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 5PM BUT WE ASK FOLKS CHECK-IN BY 4:30 - $5 Suggested Donation.
