City of Brooksville's Founder's Week Fall Celebration

Time: 9:00 am til 3:00 pm

Location: The City of Brooksville Parks & Recreation, 99 Jerome Brown Pl, Brooksville, FL 34601

Description: The City of Brooksville is celebrating 160 years with a day full of history in Downtown Brooksville!!! On October 15th there will be a street market, a fashion show, live entertainment by the Tyler Creek Road Band, Downtown Mural Tours (at 12 pm, 12:30, and 1 pm), and a tour of the Historic Brooksville Cemetery (at 10 am).

Come out to Main Street on October 15th and have your children participate in a Trunk-or-Treat and a costume contest. Let them take part in judging decorated trunks of our Car show participants for the Kids Choice Award. The Market on Main street will be open from 9am-1pm, There is a car Show, Live entertainment from the SilverBack Band and a breast cancer awareness walk to the tree of hope with Brooksville City Council.

For the event, the May-Stringer House and the Historic Train Depot will be offering $5 admissions!

Hernando Heritage Festival and Cattle Drive

Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: Historic Hernando School, 2415 N. Florida Avenue, Hernando, FL 34442

Description: Hitch up yer wagon and come on over to the Southern Heritage Festival and Cattle Drive! If you've never been you don't want to miss it.

An authentic cattle drive will begin on October 14th and end at the Historic Hernando School on Saturday the 15th. At the head of the line will be Florida Cracker Cows being herded by cowmen, cowgirls and working cattle dogs.

The Southern Heritage Festival will take place on October 15th at the Historic Hernando School. There will be an authentic Cattle Camp set up along with a Pioneer Tent where you can learn about the early times and families in Citrus County. There will also be lots of good food, entertainment, whip cracking, roping lessons, and much more! Don't miss getting a tour of the Historic Hernando School as progress in the renovation has been increasing. After that check out the school yard which will be filled with vendors with all kinds of hand crafted items, pepper jams, jewelry, crafts, plants, etc.
