Description: What’s in a name? The Evolution of Scientific Nomenclature, with Nico Cellinese, Ph.D., Associate Curator, Herbarium and Informatics, Florida Museum
Improving human understanding of life depends on integrating, querying and aggregating biological data from numerous organisms. Scientists still rely on organism names for managing biological data, but as our understanding of the “Tree of Life” improves, scientists are rethinking their approach to naming organisms.
