Children and adults will experience archaeology in various ways, ranging from the methods archaeologists use to learn about the past to recreating some of the technologies of Crystal River’s earliest inhabitants. Along with the Archaeology Works activities, participants can learn to use the prehistoric spear thrower or “atlatl” and watch a demonstration of dugout canoe construction. Come early for the Open House and Expo and stick around for the Moon over the Mounds tour when the sun goes down.
