Silver River Knap-In and Stone Age Arts Festival

Time: 9:00 am til 4:30 pm

Location: Silver River State Park

Description: Expert flint knappers, archaeologists, potters, hide tanners, bow makers and other specialists in prehistoric skills will gather from across the eastern U.S. to demonstrate and sell their arts. Vendors will offer reproduction stone tools, raw stone, flint knapping tools, unique crafts, food and more. Please join the Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center at the Silver River State Park on March 2-4, 2012.

Competition and Cooperation at Crystal River

Time: 10:30 am til 1:00 pm

Location: Crystal River Archaeological State Park

Description: A presentation by Dr. Tom Pluckhahn, Associate Professor of the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida. Please join us Saturday March 3, at 10:30 AM at the Crystal River Archaeological State Park followed by an exclusive guided tour of Roberts Island at 12:00 PM (weather permitting).
